Why should I do this rock climbing course?
If you are keen to do as much rock climbing over 5 days as possible then this course will suit you. Whether you have done some indoor wall climbing and you want to transfer your skills outside or you just want to go rock climbing and have never done it before. This course will take you to a number of fantastic mountain crags where you can enjoy being guided up long multi-pitch routes while learning lots about movement and climbing along the way.
What does this course cover?
This is a really enjoyable rock climbing course to expand your knowledge and experience of climbing. We’ll take you up long multi-pitch routes on fantastic crags like Gimmer, Dow, White ghyll, Bowfell, Castle rock, Troutdale Pinnacle, Shepherds crag and Raven crag. You will learning how to move smoothly and efficiently on the rock, how to tie on, belay, take out rock gear, use climbing calls, look at different ways to grip the rock and hopefully enjoy some sun and good company at the same time.
What do I need to have done before?
No previous climbing experience is needed.
Who else will be on the course?
The course will be run on a maximum 1 instructor to 2 client ratio.
Kit we provide.
We provide all technical kit for the activity.
If you do not have rock boots of your own we can supply these at £30 per course.
What do I need to bring?
You will need a packed lunch, waterproofs, spare jumper, walking boots or similar and a rucksack. If you have your own harness and helmet please bring these too.
In the past, we have offered set course dates but have generally found that clients prefer dates that suit their diary.
Responding to this, we now offer this course on any 2 consecutive days to suit both your and our availability.
If you have the choice weekdays are quieter in the hills but many clients have busy lives and weekends suit.
This is no problem, just get in touch and we will dovetail you into the programme.
This course will be run on a 1:2 ratio. If you are part of a bigger group that’s great and we can simply arrange more instructors to support us.
The course is non-residential and here is a list of suggestions for accommodation to suit every pocket.
You will need to travel to and from the course but we can provide transport during the course. We, therefore, suggest you book accommodation in, or near Ambleside.
We take all booking as a private guiding/instruction. This is so that we can book you in for your tailored booking.
You can simply book online and fill in the booking form all in one go.
We use world pay to make things safe and as easy as possible for you.
Once you have booked online, you will receive a confirmation email for your booking with all the arrangements for your activity.
