Rock Climbing

Why should I go rock climbing with Climb365?

We are a family run business that specialises in high quality professional service. The clue is in the name. We are a rock climbing business. We specialise in rock climbing from beginner to experienced climber

We know that this might be your first time rock climbing. We want it to be brilliant for you. We find some people are really scared of heights, needing to be really encouraged and made to feel safe, whilst others are super keen and can get stuck right in.

When we get to the crag we set up the ropes quickly so you get the most from your time with us. You will learn lots about climbing as well and we will teach you many of the skills you would use in a climbing wall.

We hold the highest rock climbing qualifications and bring our expertise to give you the best rock climbing session. We’ve actually trained and assessed many of the local instructors.

Above all it will be great fun, perhaps tiring and exhilarating but, definately fun.

We have been working and enjoying taking groups climbing into the Lake District fells for over 20 years. We have a vast knowledge of the different crags and which crag will suit your group and the weather. All of our instructor enjoy climbing personally and we hope this comes across in the way we run your day. We are AALA licensed and therefore able to instruct groups of children and young people under 18 without their parents being present should this be necessary.

What is involved in rock climbing?

Most of our group rock climbing sessions take place on a crag no more than 25m high. There are a large number of routes of varying difficulty so there is something for everyone to have a go at. We will rig a number of different ropes and you can try as many different routes as there is time for. You will also learn how to tie in, safety a climber by belaying, abseil down from the climb and use appropriate climbing calls.

Where are the climbing venues?

There are many different crags and it depends on what type of day you want. Copt How and Lower Scout crag in Langdale are fairly gentle beginner’s crags, good for families and younger children with a couple of harder climbs. Stickle Barn crag in Langdale has some more challenging climbs for older groups. Black crag and Long Scar are fantastic crags up in the mountains by Wrynose pass and on a sunny day have great views. They both have a huge number of routes of varying difficulties and make a great venue for a full or half day out. We also use Shepherds crag in Borrowdale and Brantrake crag in Eskdale. For smaller groups of 2 or 3, there is the opportunity to do a half day multi pitch climbing.

What do I need to have done before?

No experience of climbing is needed. Come ready to have fun and be challenged.
