Where is the ghyll Scrambling?

All the ghyll Scrambling venues in the Lake District are easy to get to from Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick.

There are many different venues and it depends on what type of gorge walking you want.

Ghyll Scrambling in Stickle ghyll and Dungeon ghyll in Langdale are great beginner’s ghyll Scrambling. Good for families and younger children.

Ghyll Scrambling in Stickle ghylls’ upper section has several large waterfalls to climb and can be challenging in higher waters.

Ghyll Scrambling in Church Beck in Coniston has an easier, gentle lower section and a more committing upper section with large jumps and water slides for a more adventurous group.

Gorge walking in Stoney croft ghyll, near Keswick, is a sliding down ghyll and is great for any groups who want a fun filled first experience of gorge walking.

Ghyll Scrambling the river Esk is a full day ghyll and has some fantastic jumps and waterfalls. It is definitely for those who are after a challenge and is an experience you will never forget. We call this day out canyoning.
